My name is Allison and I am the owner and designer of The ABC Market. I started this business in the spring of 2016 and I have not looked back since because I absolutely love my work and how it can impact others.

With having a Grandmother who was a librarian for over 20 years, she taught me how books can make life better. Books were my escape and now being able to breathe new life into old books is very special to me.

I have always been an avid reader and when my husband and I got married 3 years ago, our theme for the wedding was the book THE Secret Garden. I wanted book related décor and found book folding online & instantly loved the concept. I bought a folded book and deconstructed it and figured out how to create folded book art.

Each book is carefully curated into a work of art. The books are reclaimed from old bookstores, antique malls or given to me and they meet my high standards. I make sure that each books has the right amount of pages for each unique word, date or symbol. The art of book folding is a special and unique gift and the recipient will be amazed by the finished product.

THE ART OF BOOK FOLDING

I put value in preserving the vintage books that are found or donated to the ABC Market. Each book has a history and a story to tell all on it's own. That is why I do not cut the delicate pages of the books I acquire, but rather, they are hand folded.

The ABC Market uses the measure, mark & fold method to create your one of a kind book art. Each number or letter has a pattern that has an assigned number of pages and then all the letters or numbers are combined to create the message desired.
